IVY KILLING PROTOCOL

When ivy has grown onto a tree, one doesn’t have to remove all of it to solve the problem – it’s enough to “girdle” the tree, which means to CAREFULLY cut off the ivy from the bottom four feet of the trunk, while also getting rid of the ivy on the ground around the tree, so it doesn’t climb back up again.

PLEASE NOTE: It’s important NOT to use chainsaws or accidentally saw or hack into the bark of the tree!

Because ivy is a noxious weed, you should dispose of it in the regular garbage and not in yard waste.
